Introduction
Dear Colleague,
Thank you for your interest in Suffolk County Council and our social care services.
Now is a great time to look at joining Suffolk, as we’re at the start of a new 4-year strategy where looking after health and wellbeing is a prime objective for the whole Council, and we’ve embarked on an exciting programme of social care and health integration.
And while the health and wellbeing of the whole population is vital, we have a particular focus on helping those most in need of extra support to live as safely, independently, and healthily as possible, which we are delivering by:
- Working with the NHS and other partners to prioritise physical and mental health
- Making our Public Health services more integrated and holistic
- Promoting healthier, active lives and tackling issues such as isolation, loneliness, and obesity.
- Supporting the voluntary and community sector
In Adult Services we’re putting people at the heart of everything we do and ensuring that those who are in need of support receive the best possible flexible, financially sustainable models of care that offer choice and control and accommodate their needs.
We’re committed to changing for the better, working in new ways with colleagues, partners and communities to develop new models of care provision, further embed person-centred, asset-based practice, and to use technology and innovative digital solutions to deliver improved health and wellbeing outcomes.
This means strengthening our teams, and we’re therefore recruiting two roles (one which is a joint appointment with SNEE ICB) – each of which will play a key strategic role across both the Council and the county.
Working alongside colleagues in our wider Senior Management Team and our health partners you will be tasked with influencing and supporting delivery of the Council’s ambition to look after the health and wellbeing of the County’s residents.
You will join a forward thinking, pro-active team who are committed to delivering sustainable services that reflect the needs of our population, so that all of Suffolk’s population can enjoy good health and wellbeing.
You will need to be committed and willing to explore new and innovative ways of doing things, to lead and develop the strategic direction and implement change and bring people with you.
In return we offer a fantastic, supportive and inclusive working environment including diverse and active staff networks, with great flexible working options and many other benefits – not least a real opportunity to make a difference and improve the lives of our residents.
If you share our vision, we want to hear from you!
I look forward to receiving your application.
Best Regards,
Georgia Chimbani
